Project: Medics4Ukraine

Location: Ukraine

Mission: To support Ukraine and its medical community during the illegal invasion by Russian Forces in 2022.

Medics4Ukraine (M4U) was set up to provide targeted and agile trauma medical supplies to organisations impacted by the conflict.

Once we have provided the resources to the areas most in need, we then support those donations with both training and clinical advice. Our aim is to reduce deaths and improve outcomes for those suffering traumatic injuries.

Outcome

Outcome: £3.3M of medical aid supplies delivered and more than 900 people trained in combat casualty care – figures accurate as of Autumn 2024.

In March 2022, we were one of the first aid conveys to cross the border within weeks of the crisis unfolding.

Our highly targeted approach led to a member of the Surgeon Generals’ Office referring to M4U as the ‘special forces of NGOs’, and we consistently shift our focus to adapt to the changing conditions on the ground, remaining agile, efficient and tightly focused.

We continue to provide:

In September, 2024, Medics4Ukraine founders were awarded the Armed Forces Medal by the Head of Military Commission through the Lviv Regional Council.

We are the recipients of one of only 183 such medals awarded so far – in recognition of the life saving medical support we have provided.
