The World Extreme Medicine Fund (WEM Fund) is not a registered charity in its own right. Instead, it operates as a restricted fund under the auspices of Humanitas, a UK-registered charity (Charity Number: 1114639).
This structure is a recognised model within the UK charitable sector. Humanitas acts as the host charity for the WEM Fund, receiving donations on our behalf, processing Gift Aid claims, and holding the formal legal and fiduciary responsibility for the funds.
This arrangement allows donors to support the WEM Fund with the full protections and tax benefits of donating to a registered UK charity, while enabling our team to focus fully on delivering impact through our operational work.
All donations made to the WEM Fund are held by Humanitas as a restricted fund, meaning they are ring-fenced and can only be used to support WEM Fund activities. These funds are not pooled with other Humanitas projects.
