For over three years, the World Extreme Medicine Fund (WEMF) has been training medics in Ukraine, delivering trauma care in the most testing conditions imaginable. Now, for the very first time, WEMF is bringing that knowledge back to the UK.
The Prolonged Field Care (PFC) and Prolonged Casualty Care (PCC) Course is unlike any other training currently available here. It embeds frontline lessons into a five-day programme designed for healthcare professionals, humanitarian medics, and expedition leaders who may one day face the reality of caring for patients when evacuation is delayed or impossible.
This isn’t abstract theory, it’s training shaped by:
Drone-related and conflict-specific injury patterns
Care under fire in austere, resource-limited environments
3,200+ trauma training days delivered in Ukraine since 2022
Every scenario, every session, and every decision you’ll face during the course is built on the lived experience of those already working on the frontlines.
Every single booking helps fund more of this humanitarian work.
All profits from the PCC/PFC Course are reinvested directly into WEM Fund programmes.
By attending, you’re enabling further training for Ukrainian medics, delivery of trauma support, and the supply of essential medical equipment.
To date, WEMF has supplied over £4.12 million worth of aid and supported more than 1,000 medics on the ground.
This course is more than professional development.
It’s an active way to stand alongside medical teams saving lives right now.
The course is designed for:
Clinicians working in remote, expedition, or humanitarian settings
Military and civilian medics seeking advanced casualty care training
Remote care providers preparing for austere environments
Expedition leaders and outdoor professionals with prior medical training
A good level of fitness is recommended, as the course includes outdoor practical sessions in varied conditions.
Five days of tuition and hands-on PCC/PFC training, residential accommodation and all meals, and course resources and safety equipment.
Travel, personal kit, and insurance not included.
Spaces are limited on this first-of-its-kind UK course. By booking, you’re not only strengthening your own skills, you’re ensuring WEM Fund can continue to equip medics working in conflict and crisis zones today.
The WEM Fund is powered by the dedication of volunteers, medics, and supporters who believe in a world where healthcare is accessible, adaptable, and delivered where it’s needed most.
